There’s very few facts about Brian Tacadena’s death beyond that a Santa Barbara Police officer shot and killed him on Labor Day at 11:30pm.
I shot this video at a candle light vigil at the Santa Barbara Courthouse last Sunday where the family, community organizers, and some Brown Berets speak up about the impending gang injunction, the loss of their family member and police violence in their community.
Police brutality is fucked up, but does this qualify as police brutality?? It is apparent that Brian Tacadena “walked towards the officer with a large knife” (or words to that effect). What would one suggest that the policeman do?
