In the blog I reference a story written by Carey McWilliams for The Nation magazine in 1979 that looks the fatal police shooting of Fermin Montoya in Santa Barbara. The community called for accountability and transparency from law enforcement. Like the recent fatal police shooting Tacadena, the family they wanted answers. Over three decades later the story is erily similar.
