Orly Olivier

Orly Olivier is a photographer I met a few years ago. Young in years, she has an ancient eye and a broad lens. She is relentlessly spring loaded and always ready to spill herself into the mix. We did a series of skid row stories for the LA Weekly, Good Magazine as well as other pieces. Her work is prominently features in my documentary series “On Skid Row”. I remember calling her one night when I was going to Watts to interview Choc Nitty and Jay Rock in the projects. The physical safety thing wasn’t a concern. She could as easily be shooting in the Persian Gulf as Beverly Hills.
