Rumi, The Moon & Khalili

He reinvented ancient structures; domes and vaults for sustainability in the Dwapara Yuga (atomic age).

I did this piece on Persian architect Nader Khalili years ago. He identifies mystic Persian poet Rumi as the sixth element. I think about Khalili a lot. About his work and how it impacted how I want to live. Though he kicked his mortal frame a few years back, he left a big imprint.

The Super Adobe technology he developed for the lunar surface turned out to be the perfect solution for housing in disaster relief scenarios. Khalili reinvented ancient structures; domes and vaults for sustainability in the Dwapara Yuga (atomic age).

Among the gifts he imparted is a school in Northern California; Cal-Earth; The California Institute of Earth, Art and Architecture.
